The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is currently working on a massive infrastructure project that will transform the way people commute between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai – The Mumbai Trans Harbour Sealink (MTHL).
The project is an ambitious engineering feat that will consist of a 22-km long sea bridge and is divided into four packages.
Recently, the MMRDA announced a significant milestone in the project’s completion – the segment casting work for Package-2 is complete, bringing the overall project progress to 93%.

Recent Progress of MTHL Project
The MTHL project commenced on March 23, 2018, and as of March 5, 2023, the progress is 92.60% in Package-1, 92.28% in Package-2, and 98.09% in Package-3.
Package-4 involves works related to the intelligent transport system (ITS), toll management system, electrical works, highway illumination system, and construction of toll plazas and administrative buildings including the command control center.
