Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) is Mumbai’s first fully underground metro: a 33.5 km line from Cuffe Parade in south Mumbai to Aarey JVLR, via Churchgate, CSMT, Mumbai Central, Dadar, BKC, the airport and SEEPZ. All 27 stations have been open since October 2025.

CSMT
Change for Central and Harbour line local trains and long-distance trains from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Dadar
One of the busiest interchanges in the city, with both Western and Central line local trains.
Churchgate
Southern end of the Western line, for offices around Churchgate and Nariman Point.
Airport T1 & T2
Direct metro access to both terminals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
Marol Naka
Change to Line 1 (Blue Line) for Andheri, Ghatkopar and Versova.
BKC
For the Bandra Kurla Complex business district; future interchange with Line 2B and the bullet train station.

About Metro Line 3
Route explained
Line 3 runs entirely underground except for its northern terminus at Aarey JVLR. From Cuffe Parade it passes Mantralaya and Vidhan Bhavan, Churchgate and Fort, CSMT, Kalbadevi and Girgaon, then Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi, Worli and Siddhivinayak to Dadar. It continues through Dharavi to BKC, Santacruz and both airport terminals, then the Andheri (East) business areas around Marol and SEEPZ to Aarey.
It is the first metro line to directly connect south Mumbai, the business districts and the airport.

Construction & cost
Line 3 was built by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra. Twin tunnels were bored under some of the densest parts of the city, and the project cost is estimated at over โน30,000 crore. The car depot at Aarey Colony was one of the most debated parts of the project.
