About Metro Line 12A

Why Line 12A matters

The Kalyan – Shil Phata road is one of the most congested roads in the Mumbai region, used daily by commuters heading from Kalyan and Dombivli to Navi Mumbai, Thane and the Taloja and Mahape industrial areas. Line 12A gives this stretch its own metro, and MMRDA expects it to cut travel times by 40–50% compared with the road.

Future extensions

Local leaders have said Line 12A could later be extended to Kalwa, Diva and Mumbra. These extensions have not been approved yet.
