Mumbai Gears Up for Ganeshotsav with Night Services and Enhanced Security

As the city of Mumbai gets ready to welcome Lord Ganesha with open arms, a slew of measures has been put in place to ensure the convenience and safety of devotees during the upcoming Ganeshotsav. One of the most notable initiatives is the extension of public transport services throughout the night, including BEST buses and additional local trains.

Extended Night Bus Services by BEST

Mumbai’s BEST has stepped up its game to ensure that devotees can seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings even during the late hours of the night. From September 19 to September 27, BEST will operate 27 additional buses on nine crucial routes across the city.

These special night buses will ply on routes encompassing iconic locations like Girgaon, Parel, Lalbaug, and Chembur. Devotees can now access these areas between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am, making it more convenient than ever to participate in the festivities.

Central Railway’s Contribution

Central Railway, recognizing the significance of Ganeshotsav in Mumbai, has arranged for additional local trains. This initiative ensures that Mumbaikars and visitors can move around the city conveniently, especially during the late hours.

Tight Security for Anant Chaturdashi and Eid-e-Milad

In the midst of the festive fervor, the Railway Police have taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of commuters. With the convergence of Anant Chaturdashi and Eid-e-Milad, railway stations will witness heightened security.

Curbing Incidents of Molestation

One of the top priorities for security authorities during festivals is the prevention of incidents of molestation. In light of this, stringent measures have been put in place. Comprehensive CCTV surveillance will be maintained at every railway platform, serving as an extra layer of security.

In particular, women’s safety is of paramount concern. Security personnel have been deployed on late-night local trains to ensure the well-being of female commuters. This proactive approach underscores the commitment to providing a secure environment for all passengers.

Mumbai’s preparations for Ganeshotsav are not just about celebrations; they also reflect the city’s dedication to making the festival accessible and safe for everyone. With extended night bus services, additional local trains, and enhanced security measures, Mumbaikars can rejoice in the festivities and seek Lord Ganesha’s blessings without any worries. This collective effort showcases the spirit of unity and inclusivity that defines Mumbai during this auspicious season.
