Aksa Beach is a well-known beach and a popular getaway in Malad, Mumbai. It is located near Marve Beach and is a well-liked weekend destination, peppered with numerous hotels and private cottages, some of which are rented to tourists. This guide covers where Aksa Beach is, how to reach it from Malad station, things to do, timings, parking, nearby places, resorts and the safety rules every visitor should know.

About Aksa Beach

Aksa Beach is one of the cleaner and calmer beaches in Mumbai, with a wide stretch of sand, rocky patches and coconut palms in the background. Thanks to its spectacular sunset views and pleasant weather, its popularity never wanes, and on weekends it fills with families and groups of friends from across the western suburbs.

The beach is not ideal for swimming or water sports because of strong currents and sinking sand. Warning signs on the beach inform visitors of this restriction, and lifeguards have been deployed for the safety of the public. The area is prone to accidents since the tides are constantly shifting, and people frequently run into trouble after ignoring the warnings. The waves are even more unpredictable during the monsoon.

Aksa is part of a string of beaches on the Maladโ€“Madh coast that also includes Marve, Dana Pani and Erangal. To the north is Gorai Beach; to the south are Versova Beach and Juhu Beach. See all beaches in Mumbai.

Where is Aksa Beach?

Aksa Beach is in Aksa village, Malad West, in Mumbai’s north-western suburbs. It sits between the Indian Navy’s INS Hamla base at one end and the small Dana Pani beach at the other, along the road that runs from Malad to Madh Island.

Things to do at Aksa Beach

  • Relax. Begin your day at this beach with a stroll, listening to the sound of the breaking waves, and take in the beautiful surroundings.
  • Enjoy the warmth. Given its isolation, Aksa Beach gives you plenty of time with the surf. On a winter afternoon, all you need is some seashells for company as you sit and enjoy the warmth of the sun. The surrounding greenery and the sunset view should not be missed.
  • Take pictures. Many photographers are drawn to Aksa Beach because of its solitude and natural beauty. The rocky outcrops, distant coconut palms and golden skies at dusk offer many options for portraits and landscapes. Explore the area to find the best vantage point.
  • Spend time with family. Children can play on the sand and families can picnic on the beach. Keep everyone out of the water and close to the shore.
  • Shop at the stalls. After your time on the beach, check out the street vendors near the entrance.
  • Stay the weekend. Book a cottage or resort along the beach road for a short break from the city.
