Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has achieved a big step for better transportation. Land is now confirmed for the Metro Line 12 car shed, connecting Kalyan to Taloja. This project aims to help people travel easily and reduce commuting troubles.
Thane Collector Ashok Shingare played a key role. They gave permission to use land in Nilje Pada, Kalyan taluka. This land will have the car depot, a labor camp, a yard for making parts, a power station, and a place for planting trees.
Around 47 hectares of land was given by the collector for free. This is special because it’s for a public project. This shows how important it is for making things better for everyone. The MMRDA is working hard to make travel smoother for people.
Now that the land is ready, the next thing is to start building. The MMRDA will ask for companies to help build the depot. This is a big move forward in making Metro Line 12 a reality. It’s like putting together a big puzzle, and soon the picture will be clear.
We will see a new and improved way to move around the city with Metro Line 12. It will be above the ground, so it won’t get in the way of other things. There will be 17 stops, making it easy for people to get on and off. This will make travel faster and more comfortable.
This whole project will cost about Rs 5, 494 crore. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is helping with the money. This shows that many places are working together. The project should be finished by October 2025. This is good news because it means they are working fast and want to finish on time.
In short, the Metro Line 12 from Kalyan to Taloja is getting closer to reality. Having the land for the car shed is a big step. This new metro line will help many people travel easily and will make Mumbai’s transportation even better.
