Mumbai’s Metro lines 2A and 7 have achieved a remarkable milestone, with over 5 crore passengers traveling between April 2022 and September 2023, as announced by the Maha Mumbai Metro Corporation Limited (MMMOCL).
Over 5 Crore Passengers
In just over a year, the Mumbai Metro’s lines 2A and 7 have seen a staggering 5,05,22,330 passengers traveling through these routes. This impressive number reflects the increasing preference for the Metro system among Mumbaikars.
Several stations along lines 2A and 7 have become bustling commuter hotspots. Stations like Andheri West, Anand Nagar, Dahanukar Wadi, Dahisar (E), Kandivali (W), and Borivali (W) have witnessed a surge in footfall, making them key hubs for passengers.
Convenient and Eco-Friendly Payment Method Gains Traction
In addition to the impressive ridership numbers, the Mumbai One Card has become a preferred payment method for commuters. A total of 1,49,556 people, roughly 40% of daily passengers, have opted for this convenient payment option.
