Terminal 2 is the main terminal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Sahar, Andheri East. Every international flight from Mumbai leaves from here, along with a large share of domestic flights. Akasa Air moved its Mumbai flights here from Terminal 1 in August 2026, and more domestic flights are expected to follow as Terminal 1 is rebuilt, so T2 is getting busier.

Airlines at Terminal 2

  • Air India: domestic and international flights.
  • Akasa Air: moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 on 1 August 2026.
  • IndiGo: international flights and some domestic flights. Many IndiGo domestic flights still use Terminal 1.
  • Air India Express: international flights. Its domestic flights moved to Terminal 1 on 1 October 2026, and some domestic and Gulf flights use Navi Mumbai.
  • Foreign airlines: all international carriers, such as Emirates, Qatar Airways and British Airways.

The airport operator wants to move some international flights from Terminal 2 to Navi Mumbai from the summer 2027 schedule, but foreign airlines had not agreed by the end of October 2026. If your ticket says NMI, you are flying from Navi Mumbai, not Terminal 2.

By metro

Airport T2 station on Mumbai Metro Line 3 is the quickest way to the terminal from most of Mumbai. It is underground, and since August 2025 a bridge from Exit 1A takes you straight to the terminal, about 100 metres away. The station has lifts, escalators and step-free access.

  • From South and central Mumbai: Line 3 runs directly from Cuffe Parade, Churchgate, CSMT, Mumbai Central, Dadar and BKC.
  • From Andheri, Ghatkopar or Versova: take Metro Line 1 to Marol Naka and change to Line 3 for one stop to Airport T2.

By train

There is no railway station at the terminal. The nearest local train stations are Andheri and Vile Parle on the Western line. From either, take an auto or taxi to Sahar. From Andheri you can also take Metro Line 1 to Marol Naka and change to Line 3.

By bus

BEST runs air-conditioned airport buses to CSMIA from Thane, Navi Mumbai, Borivali, South Mumbai and Andheri station. Check timings and book seats on the Chalo app.

By taxi or car

The six-lane Sahar Elevated Access Road links Terminal 2 directly to the Western Express Highway, so most taxis and app cabs come this way. At arrivals, look for the prepaid taxi counter or the signed pickup zones for app cabs.

Parking at Terminal 2

Terminal 2 parking is in the multi-level car park (MLCP), which has about 2,250 spaces, 24-hour security and both General and Premium sections for cars, plus two-wheeler parking. Picking someone up? Private cars get the first 8 minutes free at Level 5 of the General car park.

Tips before you fly

  • Arrive early: most airlines ask you to reach about 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights.
  • Check the terminal: make sure your ticket says BOM and Terminal 2, as some flights are moving to Terminal 1 or Navi Mumbai in 2026 and 2027.
  • Beat the traffic: the Western Express Highway is often jammed in the evening; Metro Line 3 to Airport T2 avoids it.
  • DigiYatra: on domestic flights you can use the DigiYatra app for faster, paperless entry and boarding.

Getting to Terminal 1 or Navi Mumbai airport

  • To Terminal 1: Metro Line 3 from Airport T2 to Airport T1 is two stops. A taxi takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • To Navi Mumbai airport: a free shuttle bus runs between CSMIA and Navi Mumbai airport roughly every hour. Ask at the airport information desk for the pickup point. A taxi crosses the harbour, so allow plenty of time.
