Extra Metro Services on Line 2A and 7 for Navratri Celebration in Mumbai

For those planning to celebrate Navratri in Mumbai, there’s some great news. The city’s Metro system is stepping up its game to ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities with ease. Starting from October 19th and running through to October 23rd, the Mumbai Metro will be offering 14 additional services during the late hours of the night.

From 10:30 PM to 12:20 AM, you can now rely on the Metro to get you where you need to be. The extended services will be available on Line 2A and Line 7, which covers the Gundavali-Dahisar-Andheri west route. This is fantastic news for all Navratri revellers who want to travel conveniently during the festive season.

Previous Operating Hours

Until now, the Metro’s operating hours have been quite limited, running only from 5:55 AM to 10:30 PM on weekdays, from Monday to Friday. These hours didn’t always align with the needs of the people, especially during special occasions and festivals like Navratri.

During Navratri, the Metro will run 14 additional services at regular 15-minute intervals. This frequent schedule will ensure that passengers can board the Metro without any long waiting times, making their journey smooth and hassle-free.

For those enjoying the Navratri celebrations late into the night, the last Metro service will arrive at Andheri (West) on Metro Route 2A and Gundavli on Metro Route 7 at 1:30 AM. This means you won’t have to worry about finding transportation to get back home after your festivities.

Decision with People in Mind

The decision to extend Metro services during Navratri was made following directions by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He emphasized that this extended service aims to enable Mumbaikars to celebrate the Navratri festival with enthusiasm and convenience.

Chief Minister Shinde also noted that the Metro, known for its eco-friendliness, has been a preferred mode of transportation for around 5 crore citizens. This additional service is a testament to the Metro’s commitment to providing an efficient and convenient commuting experience for the people of Mumbai.

With these extra Metro services, Mumbai residents and visitors can now revel in the Navratri festivities without worrying about transportation. The extended hours and increased frequency make it easier for everyone to join in the celebrations and travel with comfort and convenience.
