Exciting times are ahead for Malad’s residents! The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken a big step to bring some much-needed greenery to the neighborhood. After a long struggle with encroachment, the BMC has finally gotten hold of a fantastic six-acre plot of land. And guess what? They plan to turn it into a beautiful garden for everyone to enjoy!
You might wonder why it took so long for this dream project to come true. Well, letโs tell you a story. This six-acre land, located in Malvani, Malad, was originally set aside for a garden. But, sadly, for about 15 years, it was occupied by furniture sellers and local businesses. That meant no progress on the garden for all those years!
Out with the Old, In with the Green
But hey, the good news is that the BMC is on the move! They have already started taking action to clear out the encroachers. There are 21 illegal structures standing on the plot, including old furniture storage houses and a godown from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The BMC is now telling the encroachers to show proper papers proving they own the land. Those who set up shop after 2007-08 will be asked to move out. If they don’t cooperate, the BMC will have to bring out the demolition crew.
So what’s the big plan for this lush green space? Well, the BMC has something exciting in store for us! They want to create a fantastic theme park on this land. Just imagine strolling through a beautiful park with friends and family, surrounded by trees and flowers.
Connecting Charkop and Malad
But that’s not all! The BMC has more cool ideas up its sleeve. They are planning to build a new road that runs under the elevated Metro line, connecting Charkop and Malad. So, not only will we get a lovely park, but we’ll also have a smoother way to get around the neighborhood. No more traffic jams, hooray!
A Touch of History and Spirituality
Gopal Shetty, the BJP MP from Mumbai North, has a fabulous idea for the park. He suggested that the BMC should create a Vedic Theme Park, inspired by a similar one in Noida’s Sector 78. Imagine a park that celebrates ancient India’s rich heritage and spirituality. That would be so cool, right?
It’s heartwarming to see how much effort the BMC is putting into making our neighborhood a better place. Thanks to their hard work and Mr. Shetty’s support, we might soon have a beautiful garden and a Vedic Theme Park to cherish. It will be a fantastic spot for all of us to relax, play, and connect with nature.
So let’s keep our fingers crossed and cherish the BMC as they bring this wonderful project to life! A greener, happier Malad awaits us all!
