Phase 2: Kashigaon to Bhayandar
The second phase extends Line 9 from Kashigaon to Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium in Bhayandar, adding four stations: Sai Baba Nagar, Deepak Hospital (Medtiya Nagar), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Garden and Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium. MMRDA says civil work is about 96% complete. The section still needs safety inspection and certification by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) before opening, which is expected around December 2026.
Once Phase 2 opens, Bhayandar residents will be able to ride directly to Andheri (East) on the Red Line, a trip that today depends on crowded Western line trains or congested roads.
