Changes to Mumbai’s Local Train Schedule due to Gokhale Bridge Construction

The construction of steel girders for the Gokhale Bridge will take place from 9:30 pm on Saturday to 5:30 am on Sunday

However, this weekend, commuters will have to brace themselves for significant changes in their daily routine due to the construction of steel girders for the Gokhale Bridge. 

The construction will result in a block between Vileparle and Andheri station on the Western Railway, affecting both the up and down slow and fast lines. 

This means that the usually seamless commute will be disrupted, causing inconvenience to many commuters.

Construction Schedule and Commuter Advisory

The construction of steel girders for the Gokhale Bridge will take place from 9:30 pm on Saturday to 5:30 am on Sunday, resulting in a block on the up and down slow and fast lines between Vileparle and Andheri station on the Western Railway.

Special Block on Central Railway

On Friday between 1:50 pm to 3:50 pm, a special block will be conducted on the Central Railway from Nilje to Taloja-Panchanand station, causing some local trains to be cancelled and schedules to be changed.

Modified Local Train Schedule

On Saturday, from 12:10 pm to 4:40 am, local trains will run only in the UP-fast direction until Goregaon.

But, commuters can take additional local trains from platform number 1 and 2 at Goregaon station to reach Churchgate via the harbour or up slow route.

Last Train Departure Times

Don’t miss the last local trains! The final Virar to Churchgate train departs at 11:15 pm. 

Additionally, make sure to catch the last up slow trains from Vasai Road to Andheri and Borivali to Churchgate.

Long-Distance Train Schedule Changes

Due to the construction, several long-distance trains will have modified schedules, including the Avadh Express, Saurashtra Mail, and Superfast AC Express, among others. 

While the changes may cause inconvenience to commuters, they are necessary for essential infrastructure.
