About Metro Line 7
Route explained
Line 7 runs almost entirely along the Western Express Highway (WEH), parallel to Line 2A on Link Road. It serves the eastern side of the western suburbs: Dahisar, Borivali (East) near Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Kandivali (East), Malad (East), Goregaon (East) and Jogeshwari (East), ending at Gundavali near the WEH metro station in Andheri (East).
Together with Line 2A, it gives the western suburbs two north–south metro corridors as an alternative to crowded local trains and the congested highway.
Line 7A airport extension
Line 7A will extend the Red Line about 3.4 km from Gundavali to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Terminal 2, with stations at Airport Colony and CSMIA T2. Most of it runs underground; tunnelling was completed in 2025. At T2 it will connect with Line 3 (Aqua Line). No firm opening date has been announced.
